Zinc Sulfide (ZnS) is a polycrystalline infrared optical material fabricated by hot pressing or Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). It features excellent mid-infrared transmittance and favorable mechanical strength, and is widely used in infrared optical systems. Unlike ZnS lenses, windows are mainly used for light transmission and environmental protection without focusing or imaging functions. Both surfaces are generally parallel planes. Anti-reflection coating, waterproof coating or wear-resistant protective coating can be applied according to operating wavelength and working conditions.
