This series of ZnSe protective windows is specifically designed for high-power CO₂ laser systems operating at 10.6μm. Made from premium zinc selenide (ZnSe), these windows offer excellent thermal resistance and low absorption, making them ideal for demanding applications such as laser cutting, engraving, welding, and medical laser equipment.

The WZ series is available in a wide range of standard diameters from 12.7mm to 180mm and thicknesses from 2.0mm to 6.0mm (see part numbers WZ-0.5-2 through WZ-180-6). These CO₂ laser windows are commonly used as protective windows in laser cutting heads, beam delivery systems, and optical enclosures to shield internal optics from debris and spatter while maintaining high transmission at 10.6μm.

Although the base ZnSe substrate provides good transmission in the infrared, we recommend adding a dual-band AR coating (e.g., <0.2% reflectance per surface at 10.6μm) to maximize throughput and minimize thermal lensing. Custom coatings and sizes are available upon request.
