1. Optical Density (OD)
Indicates blocking capacity of unwanted light; higher OD = lower out-of-band transmittance.OD≥6: Raman spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy (ultra-high blocking)
OD3.0–4.0: Laser cleaning, machine vision, chemical detection
OD≤2.0: Color sorting, spectral separation
2. Center Wavelength (CWL)
Midpoint of the transmission spectrum band. Hard-coated filters feature flat-top transmission curves near CWL.
3. Full Width at Half Maximum (FWHM)
Bandwidth measured at half of peak transmittance:≤10nm: Narrow bandpass (laser, biotech testing)
25–50nm: Medium bandwidth (machine vision)
>50nm: Wide bandpass (fluorescence
